NASA: Journey Into Space by Mad Science

July 16 - 20
Half day program - 9:30am to 12:30pm
Ages 6 - 12

Developed in partnership with NASA, this camp will send future space explorers on a trajectory from our Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system — and everywhere in between! This hands-on program for children ages 6-12 will bring them face-to-face with the stars, planets, comets and more through a series of exciting hands-on activities, engaging demonstrations, and fun take home projects. Grab your astronaut suits, it's time to journey into space!

In the NASA: Journey Into Space camp, your child will:

  • Discover technology designed for life in outer space — and learn about what it's like for astronauts living aboard the International Space Station!
  • Build their own NASA Stereoscopic Viewer® with 3D images of space to take home!
  • Learn about the size, climate and composition of the planets in our solar system.
  • Explore the life cycle of stars and see how constellations change when travelling across the galaxy.
  • Investigate the Four Forces of Flight through an exciting demonstration of a model rocket launch!
  • Examine asteroids, comets, satellites, and other lights in the night sky — and learn to tell the difference between them.
  • Build their own NASA Telescope and Gravity-Assisted Launcher to continue explorations of the galaxy after camp ends!
  • Learn about current innovations in space travel — as well as what scientists have planned for the future.
  • Explore the celestial sphere, learn about celestial navigation and learn to decipher a star chart to tell the time of year.
  • Create their own NASA Meterological Station to observe weather conditions in our local atmosphere!
  • And much, much more!
